Payment lifecycle
context.
An enterprise SaaS finance platform handling invoicing, billing, tax compliance, and payment tracking across multiple currencies. The company needed to build an integrated finance module MVP from scratch. I led design and product strategy, defined the MVP with stakeholders, and owned the process from discovery to post-launch — working closely with the Head of Product, Solutions Architect, financial experts, and developers.

challenge.
The brief was to build an MVP fast — before in-depth user testing was possible. The existing invoicing process relied on complex workflows with multiple manual inputs, creating friction, errors, and inconsistency. I ran a heuristic evaluation, competitor analysis, and software review to identify gaps. Then collaborated with financial experts to define user types, map their workflows, and pinpoint where the system was failing them.

process.
Ran UX workshops and brainstorming sessions with stakeholders. Developed two design variations and led review sessions to align with business goals. Pushed for a generated PDF preview despite a tight MVP deadline — and got it in. Tested with 32 users from accounting and operations.
Testing revealed three key changes: embedded invoice tracking directly into Progress and Notes instead of a confusing copy-paste link that leadership had proposed; adapted invoices to tenure-specific layouts while keeping the familiar format users trusted; simplified a 4-level sticky footer into a single row of actions.

outcome.
28% efficiency improvement. Half a billion dollars invoiced within five months of MVP launch. Expanded the design system with new components and standardised templates.
Biggest takeaway: adaptability and data-driven decisions matter more than a perfect process. This project proved I can shape a compliant, user-friendly system from limited early input — by staying close to financial experts, stakeholders, and real user feedback throughout.
